Tru Dreadz PSA: “Freeform Is The ONLY Form”

I’ve seen and heard the slogan throughout the loc community since I’ve began my loc journey, it wasn’t until recently that I’ve finally understood the message behind the words.

What’s good? For those of you who don’t know my name is Jason Williams. About 4-5 months ago I started, the self proclaimed #1 site for dreadlock culture. When I first started I had no idea what a blog was or how to even do it, but I was determined to make a platform for people with locs. So 140+ posts later I’m finally getting the hang of things but there’s still plenty of improvements to be made. I would appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, on how I can improve the site. Also if there’s anyone out there with locs that would like their content featured on the site dm me or email me at👍🏾 Also “Tru Dreadz” is not just a website but it is a company I own (with very humble beginnings). It’s very difficult to execute business ideas and expansions without money to pay for it. If you’re interested, you could support the website, the business, and the creators for just $1 a month at 🙌🏾 Any support is appreciated. I have a very big vision and I plan to follow through with it. Eventually I will be able to employ, promote and sponsor people with locs from around the world. You can help be apart of that vision 👌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾 #trudreadz #blackbloggers #website #loccommunity #loclife #loclivin #locnation #locs #freeformlocs #thicklocs #naturalhair #dreadlocks #dreads #blacklove #blackowned #blackownedbusiness #menwithlocs #supportblackbusiness #blog

“Freeform is the only form.”

I’ve noticed that most people with locs or “dreadlocks” refer to their hair growth process as a journey. In my journey, after years of trial and error, I’ve realized that freeform is the only form.

What that means is: natural is the only way. There are no special creams or potions, wraps or caps, stylist or locticians that can beat nature. That’s why at first you might be dazed and amazed by some new products you just got only to realize those things are creating build-up and in some cases even hair loss.

Think about all the people you’ve seen with healthy, strong, and beatiful locs. The ones that make you say, “I wish I had dreads…”. I guarantee most of them if not all of them have natural freeform locs, meaning that they have grown their out with a minimum amount of manipulation.

So the point I’m trying to make is, maybe there is something to the slogan. What if it’s true? What if freeform is the only form? Do you have a better plan then nature?

If you do, please leave it in the comments.
