In the midst of Lil Wayne’s release of ‘Tha Carter V’ his celebration is paused from new information about the shooting of his tour bus in 2015.
Let’s do a quick recap of what happened:
“Multiple gunshots were fired at a pair of Lil Wayne‘s tour buses after the rapper performed at an Atlanta nightclub on early Sunday morning. While Lil Wayne and some Young Money associates were reportedly on board during the shooting, no one was injured in the incident. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the shooting took place on I-285 in Cobb County around 3:30 a.m. as the rapper and his entourage departed Compound nightclub following his performance there.” – Daniel Kreps, rollingstone.com
An audio recording of the shooter, Jimmy Winfrey (Young Thug’s Manager) and Birdman minutes after the shooting was released. Years ago, there were allegations about this phone conversation, turns out it actually happened.
You think Birdman would really set up Lil Wayne? And where does Young Thug fit in to all of this? Does the fact that Young Thug’s road manager shot at Wayne’s bus, Young Thug attempted to contact the shooter 8 times before the incident, and Birdman conversed with the shooter soon after the incident implement them both as co-conspirators?
According to an article on hiphopdx.com, the beef was supposed to be squashed between the two:
“Birdman and Wayne have had a contentious relationship over the years, which is what allegedly led to the shooting. Since then, the two have seemingly reconciled and Wanye was finally relinquished from his Cash Money contract.
Their rift caused Wayne’s highly anticipated album, Tha Carter V, to be shelved for years. It finally saw the light of day on Thursday night (September 27).” – Kyle Eustice
