Should You Use Wax On Your Locs? “H*** NOOOO!” | @essenceofshay

Is it ok to use beeswax on your locs?

Shay from EssenceOfShay talks about how using beeswax on your locs can create build-up and ultimately be damaging for your hair.

Once you put the wax in your hair you’ll find it extremely difficult to remove by a regular washing with shampoo. You’ll more then likely start to see a grayish looking film in your locs that is slimy and thick, this is the buildup from the wax.

An effective but unorthodox way of removing this buildup is with dish soap. Yes it actually works, I’ve had to do it a couple times when I use to use products in my locs.
