NBA YoungBoy Could Face 10 Years In Prison After Hotel Incident Violated Probation

Kentrell Gaulden, a Baton Rouge rapper also known as NBA YoungBoy, was arrested Feb. 11, 2019 and put back in jail after a judge decided to put his probation on hold. He could be facing 10 years in prison or more if his upcoming court date does not go in his favor.

In February, WAFB 9 reported the incident that landed him back in jail:

Preliminary information indicates the rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was allegedly in the hotel with a woman identified as Starr Thigpen. The two reportedly engaged in an altercation with a housekeeper at the hotel after asking her to leave.

Police say housekeeping entered a room that was supposed to be unoccupied to begin cleaning it. However, when the housekeeping staff noticed the room was occupied, Gaulden directed Thigpen to get the housekeeping staff out of the room.

Thigpen reportedly assaulted one of the housekeeping staff members, striking her in the face. The altercation continued into the hallway before a hotel employee was able to run downstairs to get help.”

His court hearing is coming up June 21 where his future will be decided.

In the meantime, he is supposedly being held in isolation because of his “celebrity status”.

If this young man does manage to escape prison time I hope he avoids any more disastrous incidents that could ruin his blessing and his career.
