Did Jay-Z Sign A Deal With The Devil?
The NFL has been under heavy pressure for the last few years since Colin Kaepernick and others have chosen to use their athletic stardom as a tool to bring social awareness to the world about racism and injustice.
This is probably why they convinced Jay-Z to get on board, to help them get in touch with the people the league obviously doesn’t understand. The official NFL website says Jay-z’s role will be to “enhance the NFL’s live game experiences and to amplify the league’s social justice efforts.”
It seems that Jay-Z has signed a deal to help the NFL ‘stay in tuned with the streets’. Is this a bad move for Jay-Z?
It looks like their mission is to promote social justice on the NFL’s worldwide platform, but I find that hard to believe based on how they’ve previously treated other activists within their network.
Personally, I think they’ve decided to find an ‘insider’ that can help them avoid any future Kaepernicks that threaten the pockets of the wealthy league owners.
We will see how the future of this decision plays out.
