According to reports, “An elementary school teacher in Missouri is now on administrative leave for asking students to set a price on slaves.”
This was one of the twelve questions in the assignment: “You own a plantation or farm and therefor need more workers. You begin to get involved in the slave trade industry and have slaves work on your farm. Your product to trade is slaves, set your price for a slave.” The principal of Blades Elementary school sent a letter to parents agreeing that the assignment was ‘culturally insensitive’ also that the teacher has “expressed significant remorse”.
