Once again, this is Amerikkka.
Is it truly possible for black people in America to gain freedom from the system of racism and white supremacy by protesting peacefully against our historical and open enemy who will murder us on camera, in the middle of the day, in a highly visible public place?
The Wall Street Journal reports, “One person was killed in a shooting at a Louisville, Ky., park where people have been gathering to protest police violence, authorities said. The shooting was reported around 9 p.m., and police said they cleared Jefferson Square Park and closed it to investigate. Several shots can be heard in video recorded near the park.
A second shooting victim at the nearby Hall of Justice was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.”
Are signs, hashtags and trendy chants the proper offensive strategy if our enemies, the system we protest against, brings armed police forces and racist civilians with weapons whom both have the intent on taking the lives of black people?
I know many of us believe in the power of peaceful protests, but the people who are trying to maintain the system of white supremacy that has oppressed black people in America for the last 400 plus years believe in the power of violence, and murdering black people.
Like they say, don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.
Know your enemy and stay vigilant.
