We Won’t Survive America If We Keep Killing Each Other And “They” Keep Killing Us Too

If we kill us, and they kill us too, there will no longer be an “us” to speak about.

Just in the last 30 days alone a ridiculous number of black people were murdered by other black people, some were targets while others were innocent bystanders.

A week ago The Chicago Tribune reported on the outrageously deadly Father’s Day weekend in Chicago, “At least 106 people were shot in Chicago, 14 of them fatally, from midafternoon Friday through early Monday, according to authorities and Tribune data. It is the most people shot in one weekend since at least 2012 but not the deadliest this year, after more than 20 were killed over the last weekend in May, according to data compiled by the Tribune. Twelve of those shot this past weekend were younger than 18 years old. Five of those children died.”

We chant Black Lives Matter in the streets, but the truth is Black life doesn’t always matter to other Black people. Last month the Baltimore Sun released an article that articulates how black on black homicide is a “devastating plague” in Baltimore, as well as around the country.

The Baltimore Sun reports: “The reality is that homicides in major cities including Baltimore are not race neutral. Of the more than three hundred people killed in the streets of Baltimore last year, just about all of them were African Americans. The shooters (killers) were most likely black as well. This is a devastating plague acutely affecting black communities across the country.

We must realize that some black people are a much greater threat to other black people than the Ku Klux Klan or the White Citizens’ Councils. The number of blacks gunned down in the streets by other blacks parallels our memories of the many blacks lynched in communities across the United States after Reconstruction. This is a devastating plague acutely affecting black communities across the country.”

Are some black people a “greater threat” to other black people than the KKK? In some cases, I would say yes. Of course the KKK is a real terrorist organization that has committed violent and inhumane crimes against Black Americans for a long time. However, who kills the most black people in black communities in 2020? Other black people.

Yes we need to end systemic racism, police brutality, the prison industrial complex, and many other things. The thing is, what happens if we gain our liberation from the system of white supremacy and finally have regained access to power and resources, only to turn around kill each other. You see what I’m saying?

I know the stats on how most murders are committed by someone of the same racial group. Most black people kill other black people. Most caucasians kill other caucasians. Most hispanics kill other hispanics. So on and so on.

I understand that, but what I’m trying to stress is if we can’t find a way to love and respect each other a whole lot more then the system of white supremacy won’t have to do anything else, we will completely destroy ourselves. Black life has to matter to other black people first.

We are literally all we got and we can not afford to lose another black baby, son, daughter, father, mother, grandparents, friends and other loved ones because of the violent actions of another black person.

Love, Cherish, Nourish And Protect Black Life.
