Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson And Investment Partners Purchase The XFL For $15 Million

Dwayne Johnson, also known as “The Rock”, teamed up with investment partners RedBird Capital and ex-wife Dany Garcia to acquire the XFL for about 15 million dollars.

“The acquisition of the XFL with my talented partners, Dany Garcia [Ex-Wife] and Gerry Cardinale [RedBird Capital Founder and Managing Partner], is an investment for me that’s rooted deeply in two things – my passion for the game and my desire to always take care of the fans,” said Dwayne Johnson. “With pride and gratitude for all that I’ve built with my own two hands, I plan to apply these callouses to the XFL, and look forward to creating something special for the players, fans, and everyone involved for the love of football.”

CBS Sports reports, “The XFL will live on, thanks to another WWE legendary figure taking the majority stake in the football league — but this time it’s not Vince McMahon. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, RedBird Capital and Dany Garcia teamed up to purchase the XFL for approximately $15 million just hours before the once-bankrupt league was set for auction.”
